Christina
Dubin, a resident of West Newbury, is a certified Kripalu Yoga
Instructor, Prenatal/ Postpartum Yoga Instructor and a Registered Yoga Teacher with
the Yoga
Alliance. What began as a way to strengthen her
physical
body quickly evolved
into a journey of self-discovery.
In 2008, she received her
certification from Kripalu in order to share this life-changing
practice with others. When not on the mat, she is at the potter's
wheel, and believes that there is a strong parallel between creating
art and practicing yoga. "Whether molding clay on the wheel, body in
asana or mind in meditation, one must be centered and work from their
authentic self to create something beautiful and true." She strongly
believes that everyone can
benefit from yoga and that as a daily practice, yoga allows us to ride
the waves of sensation that we experience each day.
Christina
holds a BFA from Rochester Institute of Technology and a Masters of
Education from Simmons College. She worked professionally as
a
high school educator and art department chair for five years prior to
becoming a yoga teacher. This classroom experience informs
her
role as a yoga teacher, as she individualizes instruction by offering
options so that each student has his or her own accessible experience.
